Wayzim Offices – Chengdu
YUZO Design created a sleek, futuristic office space for Wayzim Chengdu in China, featuring a mix of private and open workspaces with a color scheme of black, white, grey, and vibrant orange.
Wayzim Chengdu’s office is strategically located at Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, a rapidly expanding hub for the high-tech and manufacturing industry. This satellite office is home to Wayzim’s marketing, sales, and service engineering teams, comprising of approximately 50 employees. The space is designed with a mix of private and open workspaces and a collaboration area.
The design represents the company’s innovative spirit and commitment to technology development. We crafted a sleek and sharp image for Wayzim, using a design concept involving a series of glass or black massings to reorganize the space. The color scheme, predominantly black, white, and grey, is accentuated with a vibrant orange, adding a touch of energy and creativity to the environment.
The entrance is designed to be open and transparent, allowing maximum visual access to the whole space. Next to the reception desk, there is a 10-person meeting room using double-glazed walls that reinforce acoustic and thermal performance. The meeting room’s partition uses electrochromic smart glass, which allows visual access control through electronic switches to provide better privacy controls. The open work area also has direct visual access to the entrance and meeting room and to the private offices at the back of the space.
In the center of the space, a screen made of black cabinets and a gigantic whiteboard provides the spatial partition between the open work area and the kitchen/printing area. The screen allows partial visual access, and the kitchen area is covered in orange and has a circular ceiling light to create a more playful atmosphere.
A customized cabinet wall for individual lockers was designed in the back of the space; it serves as a visual indicator that leads to the open work area. The cabinet doors were specifically designed with a diagonal cut at the edge, which allows easier open and close access. The numbers also work with the corners to create a unified visual system for the locker cabinets.
