Youku Shengshi Offices – Beijing
Space Matrix designed a modern and culturally-inspired headquarters for Youku Shengshi in Beijing, emphasizing natural light, flexible workspaces, a central social hub, artistic integration, and greenery to nurture employee well-being.
Youku Shengshi, a leading Beijing-based game development company, embarked on a transformative journey to create a new headquarter that would accommodate its rapid growth and redefine the workplace experience. The project aimed to foster a creative and inspiring environment that would attract and retain top talent.
The design concept by Space Matrix centred around creating a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and traditional Chinese philosophy. The office space was designed to be a sanctuary for employees, offering a variety of workspaces to suit individual preferences. Natural light flooded the interior, and ample greenery added a touch of nature.
A large social area, connected to a pantry, served as a central hub for employees to collaborate, relax, and enjoy panoramic city views. The inclusion of artwork from local artists brought a unique artistic flair to the space, challenging the traditional perception of a gaming company’s office environment.
This project sought to create a headquarter office that would not only be functional but also inspiring. By prioritizing employee well-being and fostering a creative atmosphere, the design aimed to differentiate Youku Shengshi from its competitors.
Key design features included:
Optimal natural light: Workstations were strategically placed near windows to maximize natural light exposure.
Flexible workspaces: A variety of workspaces were offered to accommodate different work styles and preferences.
Central social hub: A large social area, connected to a pantry, provided a space for employees to connect and collaborate.
Artistic integration: Artwork from local artists was incorporated into the design to create a unique and inspiring atmosphere.
