  • Healthpeak, a real estate investment trust specializing in healthcare-related properties, operates multiple locations across the U.S. and prioritizes investing in its people to foster growth and innovation within the company. With employee satisfaction being a top priority, Healthpeak tapped Hendy to design the relocation of their Orange County office to create an inviting environment that encourages employees to return to the workplace. They envisioned a space that not only met business needs but also provided an upscale, hospitality-like experience. This modern, sophisticated, and refined atmosphere aims to foster a welcoming environment where employees feel both engaged and valued.

An important aesthetic goal was to ensure that the space reflected the Healthpeak brand. While the office was designed to be custom, it needed to retain a similar feel to the company’s other locations, maintaining a cohesive brand identity. To achieve this, the Hendy design team incorporated polished concrete floors and partially exposed ceilings, delivering a sleek yet industrial look. This was complemented by highly detailed architectural elements, such as wood accents and custom millwork, which added warmth and sophistication to the space.

One of the standout features was the breakroom, which served as a central gathering space for employees. The breakroom integrated rich woodwork, tambour paneling, and elegant brass accents. Custom open shelving and high-end appliances elevated the space, making it not just functional, but also stylish and comfortable.

The project successfully combined both business objectives and aesthetic goals to create a modern, branded, and hospitality-inspired office environment. This approach aimed to not only bring employees back into the office but also foster a positive, engaging, and refined workplace that supports long-term employee satisfaction and retention.
